Australia’s leading bus bodybuilder exhibited the popular and successful Optimus route bus at the 2015 Victorian Manufacturing Showcase on Tuesday 27th October.
Organised by the Victorian Government and the Industry Capability Network (ICN), the showcase was held at Chisholm Institute in Dandenong to celebrate local manufacturing and encourage growth in the sector.
Volgren were a proud sponsor of the event that attracted over 500 attendees from the local manufacturing sector where a diverse range of speakers provided advice and insights into innovation and collaboration with a view to grow local manufacturing. The event also provided an opportunity for participants to network with other businesses that share a vision alike – a successful future for local manufacturing.
From building its first bus in 1977, Volgren has come a long way and is now Australia’s most successful bus body builder producing over 200 buses in the Victorian facility each year – ranging from route buses to school/charter buses, articulated buses and double-deck buses – exporting nationally and internationally, and employing more than 450 people.
