Volgren, Australia’s leading bus body manufacturer, has announced its expansion into the South Australian market. This milestone reinforces the company’s commitment to genuine local content, job creation, and strengthening public transport infrastructure across Australia.

With a current workforce of 500 employees across production facilities and service centers in Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, and New South Wales, Volgren is now extending its operations into South Australia, creating new local job opportunities and investing in the supply chain across the State.

Volgren’s Adelaide facility will offer a comprehensive range of services for both new and existing customers, ensuring bus operators across the state have access to high-quality local buses, expert service and support, and ongoing fleet maintenance.

Volgren has already played a key role in modernising South Australia’s public transport fleet, recently delivering five brand-new hybrid buses to the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) as part of their supply contract with Scania Australia. An additional ten units are currently in production and scheduled for delivery within the next two months. The fifteen buses form the additional fleet requirements for the Adelaide Hills expansion services. The company has also formalised agreements to provide further support services to DIT, including the delivery of bus driver security screens, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring the state’s bus fleet remains safe, reliable, and future-ready.

“We’re excited to establish a local base in South Australia, allowing us to deliver reliable, sustainable, and innovative transport solutions while investing in the local community,” said Thiago Deiro, Volgren’s CEO.

The new facility is expected to be fully operational by April, with recruitment efforts beginning soon. This expansion will create new job opportunities, boost the local economy, and support South Australia’s long-term public transport growth.
