Australia’s largest bus body builder has announced that Jim Jones, Volgren’s current Operations Manager will take on new responsibilities in the role of Commercial Manager.
The decision follows the departure of Paul Hoffman, Volgren’s Sales and After Sales Manager who is moving back to NSW for family reasons.
Jim Jones, who has successfully managed operations in Victoria and Queensland for four years, will now be responsible for Sales and After Sales, while retaining the current management of the Brisbane City Council contract.
Peter Dale, Chief Executive Officer of Volgren said Jim’s leadership and extensive experience in customer support across the bus and truck industries continues to be a great asset to Volgren’s continuous improvement strategy.
“Jim has an extensive customer support background and has consistently delivered major improvements right across the business, including the management of our prime contractor role in Brisbane.
Our focus at Volgren is to promote high performing people through our leadership development program and we look forward to tapping into his management skills, broad transport industry background plus his thirst to learn and then deliver what our customers need.”
Commenting on Paul Hoffman’s departure, Mr Dale said that Paul had been a significant contributor during his two and a half years at Volgren.
“Paul is highly respected in the bus industry and we have valued his contribution across our business. People like working with Paul and he will be missed by his friends at Volgren. The entire Volgren team wishes him and his family the very best for the future,” Mr Dale said.
Jim Jones who recently returned from a trip to parent company, Marcopolo in Brazil said he was looking forward to connecting with key customers across Australia and delivering a strong customer focus from quote to after sales.
“Volgren has some of the longest standing bus partnerships in the industry, it’s a real honour to lead our dedicated sales and after sales network as we continue building our key relationships,” Mr Jones said.
Mile Soda will take on the role of Production Manager for Victoria and Queensland.
