Milestones on the road to zero
2019
Volgren unveils Australia’s first Optimus battery-electric bus, launching the lightweight Co-Bolt® aluminium body into the zero-emission era.
2021
Volgren expands into hydrogen, delivering its first fuel-cell electric buses and proving the Optimus platform across both battery and hydrogen propulsion.
2023
Zero-emission Volgren buses enter service with government agencies and operators in every mainland state, across six chassis platforms.
2025
A record year: more than 150 battery-electric buses built across Volgren’s facilities, alongside Queensland’s 2,000th locally built bus.
2026
Over 600 zero-emission Volgren-bodied buses expected in service nationally — including Australia’s first electric articulated bus for PTA WA.
