Volgren brought the strength and diversity of its product portfolio to the 2026 Australasia Bus & Coach Expo, with three vehicles displayed at the Volgren stand and an overall presence of six buses across the wider show.
Held at Sydney Showground on 15 and 16 July, the Expo brought together operators, suppliers, government representatives and industry partners from across Australia.
The Volgren stand featured the Optimus Electric, Marcopolo Audace 1050 and Marcopolo Paradiso G8 1300. Together, the three vehicles demonstrated Volgren’s capabilities across urban transport, school and charter operations, and premium coach travel.
Throughout the two-day event, customers and industry representatives had the opportunity to inspect the vehicles, meet the Volgren team and discuss the evolving needs of Australia’s passenger transport industry.
Volgren CEO Thiago Deiro said the Expo provided an important opportunity to connect with the industry and demonstrate the breadth of solutions available to Australian operators.
“The three vehicles on our stand demonstrated the range of solutions we can offer, from locally manufactured zero-emission buses through to school, charter and premium coach products,” Deiro said.
“The quality of the conversations across the two days reflected the strength of our relationships and the positive momentum within the Australian bus and coach industry.”
Volgren’s involvement extended beyond its own stand, with three additional vehicles displayed by customers and partners throughout the Expo. These included a Volgren Optimus Electric on a Scania chassis, a Volgren Optimus Electric on a BYD chassis and a Marcopolo Paradiso G8 displayed on the Volvo stand.
The six buses across the wider show demonstrated the diversity of Volgren and Marcopolo products across different chassis platforms, technologies and operating applications. Their presence also highlighted the strong partnerships that support the development and delivery of vehicles for Australian operators.
The Expo marked another important moment for Volgren, with the company celebrating the delivery of its 500th electric bus in Australia.
Presented in a special commemorative livery, the milestone vehicle recognised the customers, suppliers, technology partners and Volgren employees who have contributed to the company’s electric bus journey.
“The delivery of our 500th electric bus is a significant milestone for Volgren and for Australia’s transition to zero-emission public transport,” Deiro said.
“It reflects the confidence operators place in our products and the capability of our people to design, manufacture and support vehicles for Australian conditions.”
The Optimus Electric uses Volgren’s lightweight aluminium body structure and can be adapted to multiple zero-emission chassis platforms. Approximately 73 per cent of the body structure is recyclable, and it is supported by a 15-year structural warranty.
The Paradiso G8 1300 and Audace 1050 also attracted strong interest throughout the Expo, highlighting Volgren and Marcopolo’s offering for Australia’s coach, charter and school transport sectors.
