On Thursday 3rd May 2012 Ken Grenda was inducted into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Honour Roll at a function held at Crown Palladium. The award was in recognition of Ken’s contribution to manufacturing through Volgren which he set up in 1977 and is now employing 600 people Australia wide. Ken’s determination and innovative drive obtained a licence from Switzerland that brought Volgren to the forefront of global bus manufacturing and changed the local manufacturing industry with the use of aluminium technology resulting in lighter, stronger and safer buses that were more cost effective.
